Sad Computer arrived, aready problems!

Well I'm the proud owner of a $1600 paperweight! J/K I'm an idiot... I thought the age of the floppy was over and didn't get a drive..... unfortunatly you need one to install the RAID drivers XP setup needs! Well I just bought one so will be trying to install windows today.

My main problem is this:

The idiots installed my Scythe Mine Heatpipe, (they wern't suposed to due to the added weight during shipping possibly damageing shit), and somehow bent the hell out of it! Will this affect the cooling of this thing very much? I'd hate to have to rip it off and send it back unless it's really needed. any thoughts?
(it's suposed to look like this:

i would say no, as long as nothing is cracking due to the bending it should be fine, but i would send them a letter or give a call in regards to the problem, just to know that they messed up

It doesn't look like the sink is damaged so it should still take the heat from the cpu and it looks like the fan will still be able to move the air over it fine so I really don't think it will have any effect on the cooling capabilities, but if it makes you feel better, try to take it off and carefully bend it back into place or send it back to them,

That's a ridiculous looking CPU HSF. Any amount of overclocking simply isn't worth needing something that ostentatious, IMO.

Mark, this is what i use, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118223 it is well worth it, quiet and keeps it cool and it is probably the best air cooling you can get. that one that he has is sweet too i tested it out my best friend had it before, this is my old one, i have come to the realization that Zalman is the only choice for air cooling http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118115

As I said, to me no amount of overclocking is worth needing a stupid-looking CPU cooling solution.

lol, i dont care what it looks like, i am NOT getting water cooling and i amd NOT getting a window on my pc, EVER, it can look like a pile of shit as long as it is quiet and and keeps my cpu temps down, not like the ghetto ass stock Intel heat sinks are that small and less gaudy either, and besides they are not as big as they look in pictures

Yea, I could give a shit about the insides.... no windows or wiz bang gadgets with enough LED's to light the entire room either. It's one of the best coolers so I got it. I think I'll just leav it for now... One day I may bend it back, (I sent the company a "WTF is this" letter so we'll see what they say.)

Now for problem round 2!! I got my XP installed, nice and fast! Unfortunatly it lasted all of a hour before I F&*cked up. :(

I went and installed a "Tune up" utility from gigabyte that allows you to set overclocking. I turned on this CIA2 crap and now the damn thing will not start (not even POST).

I may have to get some 1.8v memory now as this motherboard cant load my >2V OCZ. Would this CIA2 reset my memory voltage? (was at +.5v), any other solutions? What a PITA! :icon_cry:

EDIT: Nevermind.... after letting it sit for a while I was able to get in the bios and turn that shit off! It works again! (whew!)

They're significantly less gaudy than any of the ones you've mentioned.
