Here's another Valuable Ronbo Review (VRR)!
Picked up a used Apple Mac Mini for dirt cheap and have been assembling a bunch of Dell Zino HD PCs from new parts. This is a somewhat lame comparison between the two different platforms. Proceed to read at your own risk!
Both of these are considered Mini Desktop PCs. Both are very small in size and will fit almost anywhere especially on a cramped desk! Some specs on both now.....
Apple Mac Mini
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 ghz
120gb 2.5" SATA hard drive
4gb DDR2 SODIMM RAM (3 gb usable)
Integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics with shared memory.
Dell Zino HD 400
AMD Dual Core @ 1.5 ghz
1 tb 3.5" SATA hard drive
4gb DDR2 SODIMM (32 bit OS=3gb Usable/64 bit OS= 4gb usable)
Integrated ATI Mobility HD 3200 with shared memory (HD 4330 Discrete card available on certain models with 512mb dedicated memory)
There are varying options within these two lines. All depends on how much money you have!
Anyway... the Mac is smaller in size but uses more expensive "laptop parts" overall. Along with the troublesome and more expensive slot loading optical drives. The Dell is larger but uses cheaper 3.5" "desktop hard drives along with "Slim" tray load optical drives(cheaper). It uses "Laptop" SODIMM RAM as does the Mac.
I'll add to this later. Hope you enjoy my ramblings! But for now...here's some comparison pictures....
