Time to upgrade you think

The computer that I am running in my living room is old and needs some TLC or an upgrade.

It is still running Windows 2000 Professional and is attached to my 32 inch HDTV so that I can watch movies on it.

System Specs:
P4 (Socket 478) 2.0 GHz
512 meg of Ram
DVD burner which is in need of replacement soon
80 GB Primary Hard Drive (IDE)
120 GB Secondary Hard Drive (IDE)
ATI Raedon 7500 ALL-IN-WONDER (AGP)
On an MSI board.
Windows 2000 Professional

Do you think it is time for an upgrade or what. If you happen to know of any good brands / parts I can upgrade this computer with please let me know. I can not watch really anything on this computer since it likes to freeze up and the video is really jerky.. If I had a copy of Windows 7 I would try it but unfortunately I am all Windows 7 out.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is what is new to me that I use here in my room. Also a big thank you to Ron for supplying me with the Motherboard and a few extra parts for the motherboard.

Intel Celeron 2.5GHz (Socket 775)
4 GB of Ram
DVD burner
All on an ECS motherboard
(2) 1 TB hard Drives (SATA)
ATI Raedon HD 5450 (PCI-e)
Running Windows 7 Professional.
All this is stuffed into an ACER case which I am thinking about upgrading it to an newer case once time allows...

I have it connected to me 19 inch HDTV and use it to download things and watch movies..

The Unappreciated Misfit

You might be interested in this......my old Antec LanCool tower with an Intel Quad Core Q6600/4gb RAM/500gb HD/Nvidea GTX-260/Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Thinking around $150+actual shipping. A steal at that price!

It'll come with the 2 Asus DVD burners, etc. Not sure on the power supply size but believe it's at least 450w. I can get more details when I get a chance. It won't have the IBM tape drive in the picture and the original slot covers will be installed.

Room for like 6 hard drives. It'll handle Nvidia SLI video cards albeit the short ones.

I'm guessing the current pricing on components is close to double the cost of what I'm asking for it. The case alone cost me over $100 years ago.

What "More Info would be nice on it " are you looking for?

It's DFI Infinty Dark ATX MoBo.

Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600
(8M Cache, 2.40 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB)

4gb DDR2 RAM

Nvidia GTX 260 Video Card

500gb Seagate SATA HD

2x ASUS DVDRW-DL Burners

Antec LanCool tower case

PSU is an Antec Earthwatts 650w power supply

I can cut it down to $125 for the components + shipping. It's going to be an all or nothing type of sale. I priced the complete PC well under what buying the used components would cost.

I'll get more pictures of it's current configuration once I get it cleaned up. Should be by the weekend. Got a lot of things on my plate right now.

Ron, I just want to make sure I am correct in my reading. You said $150 Plus shipping for all (Including the case)?

Take your time Ron. I am in no big hurry at the moment. I understand about having a lot of things on your plate since I am having that myself.

I can use the case as well, especially to replace this POS Acer case that I am using right now..

Yo John...I ran across a couple of AMD based MoBos/APUs. These APUs have Graphic chips built in tha are vastly better than a few years ago.

Need to know whether you need an ATX or MATX sized motherboard? I have both sizes.

Let me know what you need and I get you details on what I have.

Trying to get the $$$ up to buy the tower and it's components that you posted above. I had the funds, but they went to paying the bills today and gas for the car.

Comes with all boxes/packaging/manuals/disks etc. Also includes the port cover for the back of the MoBo.

Basically APU/Heat Sink/Fan/MoBo/RAM.

Still working on the RAM..not sure if 2 or 4gb.
