Ipod vs. Computer Restore - Help??

Okay months ago I had to restore my computer due to the adaware and whatever else bogged my computer down. I am finally getting around to getting more music for my Ipod. My computer recognized my Ipod but it won't let me extract the music and put it on there for some reason. So I need to get this music on my computer so I can sync my Ipod. I have way too much music to lose and that is my only option to sync the Ipod, clear the Ipod to be recognized and syncable.

Does anyone know how I can get the music from my Ipod to the computer?
I'm hoping that if I transfer it to my computer, the Ipod will then sync the music to the library.

Anyone know??

The system is designed that once the music is on the ipod, it can't be transferred to a computer other than the on it was synced with. Even though it is the same computer, it may not appear that way to the ipod because of your restore. You're very likely SOL.

:( Thank you for your help :(

****'n Apple!!! I can't believe this. I have over 500+ songs that I can't get back if I want to add more and sync it. :( This sooooooooooo sucks right now.

Do you think if I uninstall iTunes, it will allow me to copy the music to my daughters MP3 player library (Zen)?

Buy another iPod, sync it with your pc, then transfer the music from your old iPod to the new, then to your pc.

I have no idea if this will work, but it sure sounds impressive

If itunes will recognize the ipod than you can just select the option that says "allow disk use" then go into My Computer and open the ipod if you roam around inside than you will find the files that the music is stored in. The music will not have the full titles and the tags might be gone but at least you will be able to save it.

Oh and i forgot that you need to make sure that your settings allow you to see hidden files and folders because all of the ipod stuff is hidden.

You are all wrong. Theres tons of software out there that will let you rip music, videos and pictures from your iPod to your PC. I use TuneTransfer for my ripping. I've had to do this twice with mine. Best part is you can select the whole iPod to be ripped at once instead of going file by file.
