Should I take the plunge? Xbox360 or PS3?
I was at CC yesterday and ended up playing this offroad racing game Motor Storm on the PS3. I loved watching my truck disintegrate in slow-mo after hitting a stone embankment.
I used to spend way too much time playing the N64 way back when. I loved the off-road racing stuff(hence why I liked that Motor Storm), and the 1st person shooter-adventure stuff. I had a bad tendency to keep playing levels over to get things perfect.
So knowing this, I stayed away from all of the newer realistic CD/DVD systems that started coming out years ago. I knew with more realism, and capabilities I'd be hooked. Not to mention the high cost of the console and games. Plus you could see that, just like PCs, the next generation unit would come out a year or year-half later.
So if I were to take the plunge, which console should I go with realism, capability, game selection wise? the PS3 or the 360? Or is the next gen unit, that is backwards compatible, due out next year? I think I noticed the 360 was $100 less than the PS3. The cost of these units is unreal.
Doesn't one of them play Blu-Ray discs? Is there a website that compares the pros and cons of the two systems? Maybe I should rent one at Blockbuster or something and see if I'm really interested.
