You're just gonna have to find another.....

Beware that in some states you can be PROSECUTED for this! It's technically Computer Tampering..... at the very least you will be suspended if caught.

I was good to my computer teachers so I got away with a LOT..... fixing their comps and helping them build a few got me some privileges that the other kids didn't get......like admin access on my workstation, yeah the teacher gave me the password! Mine was the only one that remained virus free the whole year!

We got a guy that is hired to take care of all the comps in the school. These machines are pretty close to tamper proof, they have learnd there lessons over the years about people getting arround security features. @ one point we where using log me in to **** arround with peoples computers but they got smart and made it harder to install. I'm lucky where alloud to go on hotmail but not youtube, myspace, facebook and all the other fun ones lol. Good luck trying to bypass it.

Lucky you don't have saint bernard shit.... Best bet, possibly, if they set the network up poorly is to change the proxy addy to a different one, out of the country. Just make sure you change it back to the old one...

I think your pertty much screwed out of checking those sites till you get on your own person PC......... Unless you can get the admin password. Also if it's blocking you from going to a site, keep in mind that it can be tracked and you will get busted!!

Getting busted is EASY..... all it takes is a network admin to actually look at the logs! Sometimes I just feel like getting some kid busted..... particularly if I think they are responsible for a spyware infestation I had to clean.

Trust me.... I run a content filtering system at the private school my mom is the principal of. I've caught a few boys that need a little lesson in good taste in women.

Messing up a comp or trying to bypass a filter at Kenley School where my mom works will get your internet privileges revoked for the year. (and a parent teacher conference and bad looks from me if I happen to be in town when it happens. LOL)

We really don't have too much trouble with this though, one incident a year, sometimes none.

I actually brought my own comp, a PowerBook G3 (mom's old mac!), and connected it to the school network..... kept me from getting into hot water over hacking an admin password like the other kids had to do on school machines to enter a proxy. Since it was MY computer, I could do anything I damn well pleased with its configuration. They never questioned me about it, it helps being a good net citizen and not being a bandwidth whore I guess. It saved my sanity during that study period on days that I had no homework.

Ah, the days when you just skipped Internet Explorer and launched Windows Explorer.

Heres a idea. A lot of thumb drives use the U3 software crap. You can put firefox on it and run it from there and you will have a 50-50 chance for it to bypass the blockers. Or you can download Knoppix and burn it to a disc and take the CD to school and boot from the CD and use firefox or what ever browser is in it.

I work for the government and they do the same thing to prevent viruses. I can't access any sites that have chat rooms or other sources of e-mail, like msn or yahoo.and porn sites of course. However, being the computer idiot that I am, opposed to the millions of dollars the gov spends on preventing idiots like me from getting where they don't want me to go I figured out a way around it all!. If the computer has the very old version of msn messenger, which was installed with Windows, all you have to do is open messenger, but don't log in...hit " help " then " net service status " then click on " required messenger upgrade "after that you get a msn updates screen, but with all the msn icons across the top, use any of those icons to get to msn home page...and voila, you can go anywhere on the web. All that shows up on the servers is " unknown page " Just make sure you clear your " history " " temp web pages " and " cookies " before you leave.

When I was in school I found the best way to get around the yahoo block. Yahoo used to list the other countries websites versions at the bottom of the page but it looks like they don't do that anymore. Here is one I found doing a search for yahoo Germany: http://de.yahoo.com/

I have no idea if this works anymore. This is when they just started to do this at the school and it was an easy way to get around. I would just go to mail and even though it is in a different language you know what you have to fill in and then it will bring you to the your english mailbox. Never found a way to get around hotmail.

I tell everyone to not do this since it is technically illegal in most states and could be subject to a number of things.

My work has supposedly locked the Internet for users but 2 minutes after starting, I found a way around it. All they did was restrict IE, nothing else. Too easy around that. But I moved to a different division, I guess you call it, and need Internet to do work now so all I do is keep the surfing to the minimum and clear cookies and stuff afterwards. I really don't care if they are tracking like they say they are. The admin is a friend of mine and he said he didn't care. Its not like the managers don't use AOL, Y!, or all the other messenger services at work. Plus, whenever I go near a managers desk, I see IE up and it has nothing to whatsoever with work. There is only one reason that the Internet is needed in my work and it is for the job I do, I think any ways, I haven't seen any other work related use yet in the year I have been there.

A friend of mine started at Merrill Lynch, their blockers block myspace, photobucket and a few other sites. It even blocks images. What him and a few of his co-workers did was brought in a USB wireless dongle and then did a ad-hoc network. He told me on saturdays when it's slow as hell he would play WoW or Unreal between calls.

Now if that isn't illegal I don't know what is. Besides I doubt a school would push charges on you for bypassing a blocker. Now for a company like M-L then yea they most likely will.
