Vista Users

I have vista on my new laptop and my desktop. Well i liked Itunes player that was on my old laptop and desktop which was running XP. SO i downloaded it onto my laptop with no issues, but sometimes when i use it on my desktop running vista, it makes my cd rom drives dissapear! and i have to go in and delete the upper/lower filters in Regedit and restart the pc just to have access to my drives again.... SO my question is what program to you vista users use to play cd's and mp3s? Yea i know media player will do that but i'd like to have something else! I just downloaded Rhapsody, but it said that it has known issues with vista so i didn't install it.....

Look into WinAmp. I don't know if it is compatible with Vista but I love using it in 2000 and XP.

Ditch vista

I suffered through it for the last 3-4 months because I wanted dx10...the cons far outweigh the pros though. Vista alone was using 800mb of ram idling at the desktop. Reburned w/ xp 64 a few nights ago...so much quicker with everything I do. And it only uses ~170mb idling.

I have no issues what so ever with vista and my computers, i have four machines running vista ultimate and two with buisness... There may be a firmware/driver issue with your hardware and itunes with vista could be a bit wacky...

Well, iTunes for me says "use the 64 bit version instead"..........however when I check into it, there IS NO 64 bit iTunes. Assholes at Apple!

I have Winamp running on my Vista 64 desktop.

Personally I would ditch both Vista and iTunes and stick with 2000 and WinAmp. I've heard nothing good about Vista and I hate that iTunes has to change the format of music files to play them... unless it's changed in the last couple years. Friggin' Apple...
