dash kits

heres a place where u can order Wood/carbon/aluminum dash kits for your ride. the prices seem reasonable and they have pix, granted none are intrepids.
they even have a link for spoilers, but i saw none for intrepids, maybe if someone called..

hello, another good site to pick up a dash kit would be www.nopi.com they seem to run about $20 cheaper for the kits.

same here, I think i would like the aluminum, aren't the dashes now supposed to be a "simluated carbon fiber"? with the tiny squares and all?

I was thinking of doing some carbon fibre work. just where all that raised plastic is, around the gear shifter/AC / radio, and headlight controls. I think that would look real sweet.

but if you were to put it on there, would you have to remove those pieces and sand/file down all those bumps for it to stick? can all those pieces be removed easaly?

They sell the kits for brushed aluminum and carbon fiber...I'm assuming they just stick to the raised bump areas as they are with 3M backing.

I have the Mopar burlwood kit. I had it on my 99 Champagne with sandstone interior which looked awesome, and I have it on my 01 which is black with dark quartz leather. It really warmed up the dark gray. The Mopar one is only 4 pieces, nothing on the doors. Some of the kits out there have a ton of pieces. Mine goes on with 3m tape. You clean the dash with alcohol pads, then there is a 3m ahesion helper, then you warm it up (hair dryer or car heater) When warm it gets as soft as butter.

Fit and finish is great. The woods looks better than both my bosses LHS and the 300m , IMHO.

The 4 pieces cover the simulated carbon in the car. Once it's stuck, it's not gonna come off.

I'll post some pictures. Most people like it a lot, all though my best friend thinks it looks like shit. But he's not known for having any taste...

How much did the Mopar kit cost? ...and does Mopar offer a carbon fiber kit also? I'd rather buy a 4 piece kit then one of those 18 piece kits that covers everything. I really only want to cover the raised "faux" carbon fiber area on my dash.

Thanks!

I was just checking out www.4adodge.com and in the vehicle accessory section it has the Rosewood interior trim kit for the 2nd gen 'trep for 210.00, IMHO it is ugly as hell though.

If anyone wants the part # it is Part #: 82205710 and here is the pic

I've got the Rosewood dash treatment installed and I think it looks great! You've gotta like the warm feel of the wood, though, because it changes the whole "high-tech" look of the interior. I saw a Ram with the silver carbon stuff at the dealership and it looked really crappy to me. Dashes should have wood on 'em, IMHO.
"He said, 'wood' - heh, heh, heh." ;)
