42LE Military Presentation

I just thought you mike like this.

It pretty much shows how our Transmissions (42LE) work.

For each of the five gears:
A yellow colored component is the input from the engine and torque converter. A red colored component is held. The front ring/rear carrier is colored green and is always the output.

The whole file (zip) can be found here, It's about 25MB.
Interesting stuff. From U.S. Airforce Academy.

Those videos are pretty sweet. Too bad there isn't any explanation or sound...

I don't know which came first (this 42LE sim or the one that came from one of my mechanical engineering texts), but these videos are the same as the ones that came from a cd that came in a text book of mine.

Here is where I gave several people the opportunity to download the entire planetary gearset sim from my text book. I still have it sitting on my server and could allow 1 or 2 people to download it from my ftp if they would like to host it for me again... The PG-Sim that I have has MUCH more detail as to what's going on in each gear.

^^ Is there any way I would be able to get a copy of that? I could send you an envelope with a blank CD and self addressed (and paid) envelope inside if you like...

How fast is your internet connection? I could put it back up on my ftp site for you to download. Stupid RoadRunner is capped upload speed of 40kb/s, but it should be able to be finished over night. I could throw it onto a cd for you if that is the way that you would like to go. Let me know.

I have a cable connection. I've help multiple downloaded at 300kbs each once or twice.

It's up to you though. If it's easier for you though, I can send you a pre-paid self-addressed envelope with a CD inside (or just a CD holder if you prefer to use your CD's). Which ever is easiest for you.
