Little E

Know what I don't like? That Little E is making his career off the death of his father. Maybe if the kid had some talent he could win his own races instead of having the field intentionally stay back and block other cars.

I think you all know what I am talking about.

I know it was a tradgedy and all, but come on people. Move on with your lives.

I never felt the field was "holding back" he had a tough car all race...

plus he does possess talent. and if you have ever noticed, he doesn't go around talking abou dad's death, it's all the reporters and interviewers who always seem to bring it up.

Oh come on! At the race I am referencing, in the post race interviews, a lot of the drivers mentioned how they held back or blocked other cars so E could have the win.

How pathetic.

I COULDN'T AGREE ANYMORE WITH LHSER. HE IS A PUSSY! Man, if I could give you a hug right now, I would! J/K I still feel NASCAR has moments of WWF syndrome, FIXED! Maybe they'll fix this weekends race at the yard so MOPAR wins. Would be quite the scenario wouldn't it. First win in a lot of years comes at the brickyard.

What really ticks me off is the coverage (or lack thereof) for Dodge. Here Sterling Marlin sits 5th in the points currently, and all they talk about before the bloody race is Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, etc. Pay close attention, the Ford,Chevy, and even to a certain extent the Pontiac drivers get more press, features, interviews, than the Dodge Boys have. Take a good notice of that next time your watching a telecast and you'll see what I'm talking about. And I do realize that the Dodge boys haven't faired that well overall but hey there is some talent there. Ward Burton, Casey Atwood, and Jason Leffler are gonna be real good someday, just watch. Cheers!

Jr. may not be his dad but he is one good driver. In his Busch series career he scored in the top five in almost 50% of his stats, first ever rookie winner of the the Winston all-star race, and holds the single season winning record for Busch series. This Winston cup season he has nine top-10 finishes, five top-fives, and one very amazing wIN.
Here is what he thinks about other drivers letting him win. "People that matter know what happened," he said. "I was kind of mad when they started talking about it, but people know we won that race. I think everyone else has pretty much come to grips that's it's pretty much impossible for that to happen."
And also, it wasn't alot of drivers that said they let him win, it was more like 2 or 3.
The reason that Earnhardt Sr. is being remembered so much is because of the way he died and his impact on Nascar overall. It's not Jr's fault that TV has to make a personal thing into a very public matter. Give the guy a chance and some respect

I'll give the guy a chance and some respect when he wins on his own merits.

I prefered NASCAR before it went "big leauge." Now, as in all other sports, its all politics and money.

Well little E won cause that race was fixed. If you were watching, the dodge droped from second (infront of Little E) to about 9th all of a sudden. Well it cause he was told to!

Yep, a scanner in the crowd picked it up. There were told to drop back.

So, when will dodge win, when Nascar says so!

Sucks cause I thought it was fair at nascar, turns out its not.

(ever notice the front of Gordon's car is different than all the others of the same make!) Its sloped!!

I agree with NASCAR being fixed. I think they'll let dodge win this weekend and make it look big by winning at Indy for the first time in 20 some years. What a way to get your first win, at indy, right? YES THEY DID LET LITTLE E WIN!

I have to disagree. How can you say the kid can't drive. Before his dad won. He had a share of the winning. I also have to say that how long did Sr. dominate on restrictor plates by driving away from the field. Well guess what the same paople do Jr's. motors so why would not his car be able to drive away as well. As for dodge falling back. I didn't see the race, but I am assuming that as Jr. went bny the pack followed him. How many times have people gotten out of the pack and fallen back even 10-15 places? It's all about wind resistance when your power is limited and when you have more than everyone else you don't go as fast. Yes I confess I am a Jr. fan, but I like Harvick more now there's a kid that can drive.

Like you said, you didn't see the race.
The dodge passed little E and was going to the front, and he had about 4 cars with him, Little E was dropping back. All of a sudden the entire pack in front of him slowed down and by he went! Lap times showed that Little E did not speed up, eveyone else was told to slow down.

And after the race it was all like a show, staged!

As long as Little E was close at the end it was obviously decided that he would be allowed to win.

With the sponsors and marketing power in nascar, what a better way to make a show.

Sure, Litte E can drive, and very well, but that race was fixed. Unless he broke down, he was ordained to be the winner.

Its a shame cause I really like nascar, Its more fun than Cart or F1, but its becoming more or a "show" and less of a race.

Ever notice Gordon can be 3 laps down, then at the end he is right there battling for the lead. But he never is seen unlaping himself and pit times can not have made it up and he never is seen racing to the start/finish line on a caution to unlap himself that way. No one else seems to be able to do that, but guess who the majority of fans pay to see.

I think a lot of the Dodge drivers are frustrated by all the games nascar is playing. Can't have the upstart come and crash Ford and Chevy's party!!

Im rambling, sorry

You dont lead 116 laps out of 160 at Daytona because you suck. You lead the laps because you have a strong car. On the last few laps the pack was not holding back, they were giving their all. Jr, just had a tuff car.

Let me see if I have this right....When Jeff Gordon wins, it's a marketing tool. When Junior wins, he's cheating. Or when any DEI cars win, it's rigged. Is Dave Blaney doing better this year because they want up to forget about the rising cost of gasoline?

Jr. talking about the race being rigged:
"A guy asked me just earlier today, and that's the first I heard of it, and I about knocked the hell out of him," Earnhardt Jr. said Monday on CNN/SI's Sports Tonight. "I don't know what to say to people like that.
"Apparently they don't know what they're talking about because I race my ass off and I'm proud of the victory."

Oh ya, I was at the Pepsi 400 and saw the race live not on TV. There is no way in hell that the race was staged, those racers were doing all they could to win. There was also the No Bull award out there also for some of the drivers (Labonte, Stewart)

So you didn't see the post race staged Little E show then!

Lets let this thread drop anyway, its pointless.

Next time your at the track, take a good look at Gordons car.

It will allcome out within 2 or 3 ears that its like the WWF , looks good, fight hard, but all staged.

I love watching NASCAR, and will be watching the Brickyard 400 today...but we all know that Petty's 200 win was fixed...his engine was over-bored from specs and he was fined but the victory was not taken away....remember Prez Reagan was in the stands that day...now that was under Bill France, but I don't really trust this Helton guy a whole lot...

I watch it for entertainment, I sure don't bet on it..if I did I would always bet on Jarret or Gordon,,,no one else wins regulalry..
