Toyota in Nascar -what do you think??

Me I dont like this one bit .Found this on the jayski site .....

.More Toyota Stuff: Once again rumors are circulating that Toyota wants to get involved with the Craftsman Truck Series as a prelude to moving into Winston Cup. A recent interview with Mark Amstock, Toyota’s national truck and SUV marketing manager on nhra.com did little to quell such speculation. Asked about Robert Huffman’s win in the Goody’s Dash Series race at Daytona in a Toyota, Amstock stated the company’s goals: “We’re learning what it takes to work with NASCAR,” Amstock said. “The Craftsman Truck Series is next and then we’ll work our way into Winston Cup. We’ll be there sooner than some people think.” Kevin Triplett, managing director of business operations for NASCAR, said they’ve yet to be presented a truck by Toyota, which would be one of the steps to moving into the series. “We talk to manufacturers all the time about interest or how they fit in,” Triplett said Feb. 22. “Nobody’s presented us anything. Even if we’ve had conversations (with Toyota), that’s as far as they’ve gone.”

Not sure if I like it , however Dodge is no more an American company either, lest we forget Gm and Toyota have joint projects, also Ford owns Volvo, jaguar, and works with Mazda, so I guess to be fair they should be allowed to race I just hope Dodge kicks their butts back to Japan.

I hope so too. It would seem weird having Toyota in there. I guess if they can make a nice race vehicle, they should be allowed though.

I don't see a problem with it.

A NASCAR Dodge Intrepid is nothing like the road version, aside from the shape of the body.

It will defintely be interesting.

Does that mean they can go faster with more sponsor stickers? What works for the ricers may just work for NASCAR.

NHRA has a Toyota funny car this year! Or is it just the sponsor? I have not seen it so I'm not sure but it sounds like the car is Toyota. Betcha the engine is an American V8. Point is this, why not let Toyota enter? We would show them that North American racers (Dodge!) will win.
