Waltrip to lose DEI ride

Watching Nextel cup practice on speedvision and they announced Michael Waltrip would not re-sign with DEI. He'll finish the season and be looking for a new ride. Waltrip himself said he wanted a premier ride with a premier team.
We'll see but I think the DEI ride was probably as good as he'll get. He should have done better with the quality of car he's had with them.

It might be a good thing for both of them, I mean look at Elliott Sadler now that he has parted ways with the wood bros. They just didn't seem to be able to work together, maybe this is the case here this year with MW and DEI. ??

From what I heard DEI wouldn't guarantee some of the team personel the Micheal wanted so basically he called it quits with them. DEI has had a dissapointing season over all. It's not like Jr. has shined while Waltrip suffered. They have both sucked. But I doubt very much he'll get a better ride somewhere else...

I think Junior will make the cut. Nascar will do whatever it takes (the same for Jeff Gordon). I'm already tired of hearing the announcers crying about Junior and Jeff not making the chase. Geez there's 41 other cars out there.

Oh I'm sure Jr. will make the cut somehow. Things always have a way of working out for him and typically for Gordon as well. I mean nobody would want the Chase for the championship to only include losers like Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson (just to name a few) would they???

I would. I'd like them to let them run as is but we all know how Nascar can be. Looks like old Tony Stewart is beyond hot right now. I also have been hearing rumors about Bobby Labonte getting the boot. That guy has had the worst luck this year in cup racing by far.
I can't believe Gibbs would let him go. If he does hopefully he'll take Rusty's ride.

I'd love to see it stay the way it is also. I've been a Mark Martin fan for years and things are really looking good for him this season. I don't have anything against Jr. myself, but I hate how the media and NASCAR focus so much attention on him. Now, Gordon, who I've met briefly in person, is just a stuck up ass, so I really hope he ends up on the outside looking in...

Actually We met Gordon in Pigeon forge 2 years ago(I think he was doing something at the NASCAR speed park). He was going into a resturant and saw my son all dressed in his Gordon wear. Gordon stoped and talked to my son for over a minute and signed his hat and shirt. It made my sons day(weekend). My son said that he(jeff) was his hero. Gordon answed that his real hero is his dad(me). I am not a Gordon fan but he is no "stuck up ass". I thanked him and he said "Thank you. Without fans I would not have a job"
