Sorenson Wins Busch Race At St. Louis

Reed Sorenson won his 2nd Busch series race this year at St. Louis Saturday night. Not bad for a kid that just turned 19. He's second in the points. He's also a Ganassi driver.

Yes he's supposed to get the cup ride. This kid can drive. Reminds me of Kenseth, doesn't tear up his stuff, real smooth. Which considering his age says something. He'll be a star.
David Stremme is also getting a cup ride next year to drive for Dodge.

And you think the #40 will stay Dodge when Toyota enters the ring?

How come they backed off of racing in the Busch series next year ?

It wouldn't be because they've done so poorly even with Nascar's help in the truck series would it ?

"Toyota still up in the air, but could run in 2006: Chevrolet and Ford are seeking approval for new models to race in the 2006 Nextel Cup Series, while Toyota has satisfied all requirements to submit a car to compete in Nextel Cup or the Busch Series next season. NASCAR vice president for competition Robin Pemberton on Friday said the sanctioning body had already looked at Chevrolet's new Monte Carlo and Ford's new model, which will be revealed to the media in Charlotte, N.C., on July 14. "We've had conversations with Toyota all along, even though they haven't officially thrown their hat in the ring," Pemberton said. "We've had good conversations with them and they're evaluating the Busch and Cup Series now -- though no decisions been made (on proceeding). They have done what they need to do by the (deadline), but they've made no official request to participate in 2006." Pemberton said the deadline for getting a vehicle through the approval process -- which includes wind tunnel and track testing -- to race in either Nextel Cup or the Busch Series next season is Sept. 1."

Toyota is done with IRL at the end on 2006. That would be a great time to go in both series. The new "car of tomorrow" should be out by then also. There is already one import racing in NASCAR. Time to open it up to the rest.
