Newman Wins at Loudon
What a way to start the Nascar playoff with Ryan Newman winning the first race of the 'playoffs'. Both Ryan and Tony Stewart raced each other hard and clean (not like lots of others) at the end for an exciting finish.
I was surprised that Tony's tires held up after he popped Dale Jr. when Jr. was going to pit under the green flag. Tony also hit some low end guy not too long before he popped Jr., his tire smoked like crazy for a bunch of laps. Glad it wasn't me; I probably would've pitted the way that tire was smoking.
Some real crazy stuff. It'll be interesting to see what Nascar will do with all the incidents during the race.
Little Elf boy (Kyle Busch) flat out ran over Kasey Kahne, hit a couple of other cars (just like his big brother) and couldn't figure out why anyone would be mad at him. Just like his big brother (getting more like him each day).
Then Kahne finally loses it and slams Busch (Kyle) during the caution which was pretty impressive since only one of his rear wheels were touching the ground. He took a nasty hit. Kyle Busch is such an ass.
Michael Waltrip wrecks Robby Gordon on the caution lap and Gordon really blows his cool. He actually called Waltrip a piece of 'shit' on tv. Rumors are they may sit him the rest of the season. Tried to back into Mikey on the caution and slammed his helmet into Mikey's ride. Of course none of this was Mikey's fault. Now Robby Gordon has a habit of hitting most everything on the track but this time it wasn't his fault. (Though he almost hit Tony Stewart first with his car and then Tony almost ran over his helmet).
Kurt Busch getting spun on the second lap and he lost it as well but managed to keep his wits about him. The crazy thing to me is most of the guys who were involved in all the crap aren't in the chase.
Listening to Dave Despain's talk show last night and there was a writer on who laughed and said they may punish Robby Gordon since he's running his own team and not driving for one of the big boys. I'm sure nothing will be said about Kyle and I bet Kahne only gets a slap on the wrist.
Nascar actually red-flagged the race to warn the driver's to cut the crap
Kahne made a good point though when he said "I'll do what Dale Jarrett did in Bristol", (he only got a 2 lap penalty so that must be the right thing to do)
especially since Kahne's car was done. Nascar also made him park it which was kind of stupid since he was done anyway.
