Intrepid at Homestead?

Some teams may drive Intrepids in the last race of the year. They are unhappy with the Charger Aerodynamics and want NASCAR to let them redisign it. So far NASCAR has said no. Lets see if they go ahead with the protest.

I caught just a bit of them talking about that during the race. Wonder how often teams want to go back to last year's car because they don't like the new ones.

They already have a new body that is being tested. It's not a Dodge, Ford or Chevy but that new template body they've been talking about. Brian Vickers was on Speedvision testing it. That's where they're going bodywise. If you think they're hard to tell apart now wait until you see this body.

The "car of tomorrow". will have common body templates. They will still have a different nose and tail for Ford,Chevy,Dodge, and Toyota.

Yes Adaptabl but it'll be even harder to tell them apart. Did you get to see it yet ? They showed it on Speedvision. Just a bit different for each team in the nose. That's it.

Newman to run 04 Dodge, Rusty/Kvapil the Charger: Don Miller, President of Penske Racing South told Claire B. Lang XM Satellite NASCAR Radio that: "We wanted to run ( an 04 Dodge) one earlier in the season and Dodge asked us to hold off until we did some further testing but now we fully intend to run it here and if it works out like we think it will, we will probably run it again next season on certain race tracks. We had trouble with the 2005 being so pitch sensitive on smooth high speed one and a half mile race tracks. Everyplace else the other car is just fine. Definately the #12 is going to run an 04 this weekend." Miller says the 2 and the 77 will run the 2005 Dodge Charger this weekend at Homestead.(Claire B. Lang XM Satellite NASCAR Radio)(11-18-2005)
