Yep, you got it exactly right. What a good person and race announcer. Sorta the Keith Jackson of motorsports broadcasting. I will miss his input.

Sad day for Nascar fans. Benny was definitely one of the "Good Old Boys" that helped make Nascar what it is today. I had the pleasure of meeting Benny and shaking his hand the same day to got to meet "Awesome Bill from Dawsonville" and DW way back in 1985. I got to go to the pits at the Nationwise 500 at the old North Carolina Motor Speedway. Good times...great guys...

We'll miss ya Benny!!

To bad he passed away. Myself i could not stand him. He always got drivers, cars, postion's, ect mixed up. And he always favored the Chevy drivers. If little June bug did a move. It was the best outstanding move in the world. If a Dodge or Ford driver did it. It was a low under handed bad move.

I'm sorry he died but I prefer Buddy Baker as a 'color' guy. Of course Buddy doesn't pull any punches so I wasn't surprised when they chose Benny over Buddy.
