38-35 Patriots. They have to win the Superbowl for this to mean anything.

So true fearless , after 3 quarters i didnt think the pats were gonna do it.But brady works so well under pressure and they came thru.It wasnt a blowout but a win.SO i like to see thme go to the superbowl and it lands exactly on my b-day n the presernt i want is obvious for them to take it and become the dominant team of the decade with 4 of 7 superbowls.

thanks

I disagree to a certain degree. Yes, they do have to win the Superbowl for it to be the perfect season. But if they lose in the playoffs somewhere along the line you can't just drop it and say they didn't achieve anything. How many other teams have gone a perfect 16-0 regular season?

0.

Was another heartattack game..I was seriously doubting it when they were down by 12 in the 3rd. I couldn't watch when Moss was almost injured...that would've been a season ender.

I'm lucky enough to have tickets to the superbowl this year...I'm really, really hoping the pats at least get there. Wouldn't be quite as awesome if it ends up being something like jacksonville and dallas, 2 teams that I really dont care for.

Oh well, here's to 3 more!

yea Dolan, but they dont play to win the regular season....they play to win it all....thats what makes the '72 Dolphins so great, they did win it all...convincingly. Id MUCH rather say I went 10-6 and won the superbowl then 16-0 and lose the AFC Championship! And honestly, the Patriots have looked VERY shaky the last 5 or so weeks, theyve had to squeak out every one of those wins, that luck isnt going to favor too well against playoff caliber competition, even if they are at home the rest of the way...I look for either San Diego or Pittsburgh to shock them in a few weeks if they continue to play like this...
...and IMO, if the Patriots dont win it, then someone from the NFC will.....

Yup. It's basically saying that this 16-0 team was not really that good if they lose in the second round.

Just the way I see it.

Good points, I still think it's incredible what they did. Even if they lose... What they have done will be very very difficult to replicate.

I have to say this. This team and the era it is in started with the draft of Tom Brady. Coincidence???? I think not. The best QBs will take whatever they have and make them better. He is the best QB since Montana, IMO. Best under pressure QB, best in the pocket, best overall. He took Gabar Gaffney and made him into one of the best slot/third option WRs in the league. He took Welker and developed him into a great go-to guy. Gaffney went to NE from Houston. In Houston, nothing, check the stats yourself. One year in NE, he is performing at a higher level then he did in all the years in Houston. Almost same with Welker. He came from Miami and NE saw the potential and brought him in. These are just two examples from over the years.
Brady just got the best WR in the league in Moss. I have no doubt that this will be better then Montana to Rice combo in the 90s. Moss is just as dynamic as Rice was, maybe faster. The potential was there for Moss, he just needed a good QB. Don't get me wrong. Minnesota had a great QB his first years in the league. His numbers showed it too. After he left, the numbers declined. Also, in Oakland, his numbers were bad. No QB, of course. Moss thrives on the deep ball. I seen him in college, I witnessed first hand how he just sheds the double team and kills the opponent. Remember the Moss Equation? (or whatever it was) Well, these teams better get back to that or these numbers he put up this year will just get better.
OK, what I am saying is that I was not surprised that they pulled off the undefeated season. I imagined that it was possible when Moss went to NE. Just not his first year.

Not sure if anybody heard yet, but, umm, they won again Brady also broke the record from Phil Simms for the highest completion percentage in a post-season game.
