Parking Lot Jerk

Two days ago I drove across to the grocery store from work (it was raining) to get some lunch. I'm driving down an aisle and I see a parking spot about 3 cars from the front of the lot. Right as I'm about to pull in a Silver Intrepid ES whips around the corner. Naturally I stop; and he pulls right into that spot! So I did the only decent thing I could think of, when he got out I rolled down my window and kindly told him he was an a$$hole. I went and parked in a different row. When I got out and went inside this twerp comes bouncing up to me like he's hot stuff and tries to get in my face about the whole thing. I explain that I was about to pull into the spot and he cut me off to steal it and that made him an a$$hole. He proceeds to sugest i should have had my blinker on (wtf?) and something about the rain etc, all while swearing and carrying on like an 8 year old Eminem wannabe. After the blinker comment realized there wasn't much point talking to this yahoo, I think if I would have squared off with him we'd have been throwing haymakers in the rain! It really did tap my self control to get into the store without strangling him, Ug, I couldn't believe it. And I thought all Interpid owners were cool!

I think he was right about the turn signal, or am I the only one that puts it on?

lol i do not signal in a parking lot. its considered private property and laws like the signal and seat belt do not apply. cause if you get into a fender bender cops just say its private property and exchange insurance good luck

People use the turn signal to indicate other drivers that you're waiting for a spot (when someone is pulling out from that spot) or that you're going into one that is empty.

If you get into an accident because of running through one of those stop signs, or are injured because you are not wearing your seatbelt, you will be charged and at fault. Malls are considered " public property " until it suits someone else for them not to be.

damn how busy are your lots?
only time i have problems in parking lots is during shopping season and i barely go out to them lol. out side of that i should of explained how i was driving through the lots.. i try to take the back way in and park as far as way as possible so there really no cars where im at and don't signal cause well no traffic and i do stop at the stop signs.and yes parking lots are private property and thus why security can fine you for speeding or running the stop sign but when it comes down to an accident the cop will say exchange insurance info and thats it.well out here they do. even the casinos aren't responsible for your car and if theres a reck there same thing, exchange and go on your way.

edit now on streets i always signal and stop at the stop signs..no cali rolls and yes i wear my seat belt all the time when my cars moving

I do that too, although I don't usually wait for spots; this one was empty. I never bother if I'm pulling into an empty spot. I should mention that he didn't have his on either

Who the hell cares if it's private property or not? You signal out of courtesy to other drivers. It doesn't take more than a millisecond out of your time and it would usually stop things like this from happening. If I see you waiting for a spot with your signal on, I'll leave you alone. If you don't have your signal on, I'd assume you're waiting to pick someone up or something.

No seatbelt on private property? Give me a break! YOU may be able to control your car but what if some idiot comes and whacks you from behind? You're going to get your neck broken!

People amaze me these days.

In South Florida, as a general rule, I use a turn signal any time, including going in for parking spaces. That is because here, especially this time of the year, I have drivers from all different states (and even countries) here all in one state trying to battle each other for parking spaces.

It's a good idea to at least be able to say, "You were warned," if someone comes in and nails you because they weren't looking.

I've seen people driving down the streets while reading newspapers; once I saw a guy on I-95 reading a book; you see people constantly eating lunch (not just something you can do one-handed like a hamburger, but something that requires both hands like a Chili), people using laptops while driving, and the list goes on and on...

I've been to every state between nJ nd fL, and rarely I've seen a few that don't use the turn signal. It is kinda like a courtesy thing to do as other member said.

Did you get a royalty check from Allstate as a consultant on that latest Allstate commercial?
