My SRT Vs. 350z Vs. GTO

So i posted on here before and got bashed pretty well, for not much reason, just simply asking for a better way to launch my SRT, oh well. The Cobalt SS Turbo i ran against apparently was not stock showed me some slips from last week, he ran consistant 13s at esta. This week i was up against an 05 Grnd Prix GXP and thought nothing of it, untill i looked under the hood, and there i was staring at an east to west mounted 5.3L FWD V8! way to go GM, so we get ready to go, and he goes on the ready signal before i got my ready signal and before the go signal, what a ****, so i go anyway, and his v8 roars and launches down the str8 like a rocket, but not str8, he had to keep the car on the road from crazy torque steer, i 1/2 spin 1st and catch 2nd well and 3rd, ran it all the way to red line to the end of the track and was pulling on him and made it only a car and a 1/2 length or so at the end. Not bad i think for going from a dead stop while he left a good 1.5 sec before me. After the run he said he had it reprogrammed or some jazz for an extra 50hp, ontop of his flowmaster exhaust and intake.

Now yesterday, i finally got my bud to race his 03z he brags about all the time, he just really didnt want to run me, and i see why, those things are dogs. Before i got the SRT, i would ride with him thinking its the quickest thing around, but weighing in close to 2 tons makes for a fancy lookin slug. 2nd gear roll we went and by the time i was in 4th he was around 1-2lengths back, and i had a passanger weighing 170. Not a bad car, just too heavy, its the jap Mustang, and you need some serious $$$ to make them fast, but he is planning on a TT kit, he currently has nismo intake and exhaust.

After the Z was my bud's 5.7L GTO i was quite worried about this one, but also eighing in close to 2 tons i thought hey, why not. SO from a dig the 1st time and a roll the 2nd time. The dig was bad, spinning 1st but pulling on him through 2nd and 3rd, it sounded like he had some bad wheel hop and pulled it to 1/2 a car length or so at the end of the 1/4 length. 2nd time from a 2nd gear roll right from the start i pulled all the way through 4th leaving about a car length on him till about 70 then somewhere around 90 he past me, must be some better gearing or top end for those guys. All in all ive had some damn good fun the past couple weeks and learned alot. No worries, i don't support street racing this was on an open back road with open fields on either side for 2 miles and we made sure it was closed off.

MOPAR OR NO CAR! I miss this site, you guys are much nicer than the ^%$&%^ on the other forums...ha, maybe ill be in the market for a 1st Gen trep for the winter? Any suggestions on where to get one. I would love another 97 Stone white baby, oh i get shivers just thinkin bout her.

My buddy just bought an SRT-4. Another buddy of mine works with a guy that owns one. Those things are probably one of the biggest sleepers around.

Your SRT4 should spank either of them, including my nearly stock Magnum RT. I have run 350Zs on Mount Tremblant (F1 rack in Canada), they can be held off with my car.



Where he hits in the high 140s I run 135 in my Magnum. Your SRt should hit the mid 140s if it is in proper dress (tires, brakes and some instructional driving on your part)

The SRT4 Neons have a top speed of 155 mph. 0-60 mph in about 5.4 secs versus about 5.7 for the Magnum R/T. The Caliber SRT4 has a top speed of around 155 mph also, but is slower ...0-60 mph in about 6.0 secs because of the extra weight. The Magnum R/T could easily hit 150 mph+, but for some stupid reason, Chrysler chose to put a limiter on it.

no videos on those races, ive got one against a grand prix, but that's an obvious outcome, its just funny how far i got and dissapeared...
