Unfortunately, not all of us have $110k in the bank for a GT-R, hence why we all drive 10 year old American/Canadian built vehicles that retailed for 18% of the price of a GT-R. Sat in one, drove it around the lot, real nice car, but not for me. Plus it isn't a Mopar man!
As far as all this Hemi nonsense goes, let me put it into perspective, I lived at a local dragstrip all summer pretty much. When we weren't watching the big boys play, people would be putting their cars in on time trial's.
In short, these amazing untouchable modern Hemi's are not what they are cracked up to be (I thought exactly like you). 6.1 and 6.4 Hemi LX's were only pulling 15-16 seconds on the 1/4 mile. Last time I checked, LH's were pulling about the same, or better with some minor and INEXPENSIVE tweaks compared to what a Hemi normally gets.
Let's stop down playing the platform we're all here for and love. Fact is these cars, even for the age of ten years old or better, will STILL to this date spank the vast majority of vehicles on the roads. Want to start talking forced air-induction, higher end vehicles like Mustangs and Camaro, well, I don't think we stand much of a chance without putting some large cash under the hood.
Highlight of my summer? My buddies $5K SRT4 Neon, stock, DESTROYED a $80K Supercharged Shebly Super Snake or whatever the hell it's called Mustang. Classic. The. Look. On. The. Owners. FACE!
