Neon VS Intrepid

I was heading to the HESS on Cahoon and Ramona. I get to the gas station and I pulled up behind a Neon that some guy riced out. The whole time he was there he kept looking at me. When he got done he drove off to the intersection but pulled onto the side of the road. After I filled up and left I went down Ramona to get onto the highway. Next thing I know the Neon was behind me. I went onto the off ramp to I295 south and he followed. After I merged into the lane I wanted I looked in the mirror and he jerks over and floors it to catch up. I look over and he signals me to roll down my window. I went ahead and he yells out "Let's go!" I laughed and before he had a chance I floored it and he couldn't catch up at all. I was 4 to 5 car links away until I got to the Wilson off ramp. I slowed down because my radar detector was going off. The Neon passes me and sure enough there was a trooper on the other side of the overpass in a Camaro.

The Neon was pulled over instantly. Can't believe the guy thought he could beat a V6 with 3rd gear slamming in the tranny. He didn't even have a Turbo or anything. All in good fun on my part.

Even if it would have been an SRT-4, he still would have gotten the ticket! That is an expensive win.

Its funny how many people mistake a mildly zippy L4 economy car for an actual race car; rather then recognizing that the reason they have low close gearing is to compensate for low power and torque output. Almost every stock compact car Iíve driven has run out of breath by between 45 and 60, whereas at least the 3.5 give you a nice kick up till about 110, and still accelerate pretty strong up to about 135 with no governor but an otherwise stock powertrain.

If it was a SRT4 I wouldn't of raced him. I already made that mistake with my slowrolla lol.

================================================== ============

I had a fun race this morning with my boss. We met up at the stop light on Sanwan and he yelled out "First one to get to their parking spot buys the shift drinks for the day". He has a 07 or 06 Accord with a turbo. Well it's stock and crap so I went ahead. I floored it and went. I hit the train tracks and it felt like the car flew several feet over the tracks. I got to the parking lot and parked before he even made it to the parking lot. It was too short of a distance and up hill so my boss's turbo couldn't get a chance to wind up lol.

You should if it is an SRT4. At highway speeds, it's more about HP than weight. Your 3.2 stock is like what, 225HP while an SRT4 is supposedly 215HP (maybe 225-230 HP in reality). It could have made out to be a very interesting race.

If I ever get the chance to race against an SRT4 from a highway roll, I'd do it just to see how it ends up. I'm thinking that cause of the tranny, the SRT4 will still put a little more to the ground though, so it might be a slow crawl away from the Trep.

you wanna put your ride where you mouth is? my buddies acura GS-R integra WILL walk all over any intrepid out here. ever hear of VTEC? hell even my LS with no vtec would walk all over a 'trep, granted we do have fast cars even my 2.7 is quick. i get out of 2nd at 70 mph, and ive gone 141 mph and that was it!
the only reason most domestic sport compacts die out at 45 is the governer (i think i spelt that right after 2 beers and a hard days work) i remember when i kept up with a V-8 ram.
find a real import and race them, so im also guessing that an S2000 would loose because its a 4 cyl. with only a measley 240 HP? LOL just playin man, i hate neons even if they are srt-4's!

He obviously was talking about the people who have plain jane Civics and their ilk thinking that their cars are race cars. He wasn't talking about the ones that are actually built to be performance cars like your buddy's Integra GSR.

Learn how to read.
