Extreme Road Rage

On my way home theres a 4 way stop on Firestone and Morse. Some what traffic. I get to the stop sign and then the guy on the right stops as well. About 5 seconds from each other. While this was going on the guy on the left goes. After he goes I start to go and the guy on the right tries to go. We both stop and I pointed at him and yelled dumbass but ofcorse my windows were up. The guy had his blinks to turn left (towards me). I went cross and next thing I know he took a right and is following me and keeping some what of a distance. Well it was a straight shot to my neighborhood. When I got there and turned in he follows. As I drive on my street he follows. I passed my house and kept going. Five minutes later he's still behind me. Well I floor it and tried to lose him. Since I know my neighborhood like the back of my hand I thought it was going to be easy. It was easy, I went around onto one of the side roads and headed out the back way onto Colins and headed to the new church that was built. I got to the church and parked next to the church bus blocking view of Colins . I got out and saw him pass the church, he didn't see me.

If some one follows you for almost 30minutes I doubt he just wants to yell at you.

Good thinking, not letting him see where you lived. There are some flat-out head cases out there. When dealing with road rage, brains and discretion beat the right-of-way every time. You did good.

I had a guy on the highway try to follow me home once because he heard my system on the highway and was probably planning on seeing where I lived to steal it. Only reason why I knew I was being followed is because his front right light was starting to go, and was flickering. Were talking 30 minutes from the time I first the car. It was the light that made me aware. Getting to my house, involves alot of short turns once your near by. I knew he was following me based on the awkward route I took back home. Did a few quick turns and left him in the dust. What a dumbass who just wasted his life, only to come up empty handed! LOL! Probably took him another 30 min finding his way out of my development, and another 30+ to where he was going.

The only time I was followed home was a few years ago. Some guy cut me off and I gave him the middle finger. I passed him about a mile later and 10minutes after that I pulled into the drive way. As soon as I got out I saw that car that cut me off followed me and pulled up at the end of my drive way. Well I went over to the car to see whats up. The window opens and it's a 80 something year old man with air tank hoses on his face. The old man said in a raspy voice "If you ever give me a jeep (old slang for the bird) again I will kick your ass." I felt bad in a way so I just told him sorry and he left.

Since then I don't give out the middle finger in the car. If a 80 year old man on a O2 tank whats to kick my ass I bet some guy might want to kill me.

A old friend of mine was followed home once. He had no idea what he done and didn't know he was followed. Well when he got home he went inside the house and by then a SUV pulled up and 4 guys jumped out and slashed all four tires and started to key the car. Well James (old friend) had to go out side to check the mail and saw the four guys keying his car. James had a concealed weapons perment and took his gun out, they tried to run and one got shot one in the leg. They managed to get in the SUV and drove off. The cops came and filled out a report and a week later he gets a summons to appear in court. The guy that was shot sued him. Well James counter sued and won.

Crazy stuff happens a lot here and I bet it's no different then anywhere else.

I've had to stupid things happen that weren't my fault with angry people. I've done stupid minor things before, but not like these 2 things. First, it was I believe the beginning of October. I was bored and wanted to go to McDonalds, so I hopped on the freeway. I see no one except a Ford Escape far behind me, so I begin to change lanes. Idk if he was speedin the whole time, or sped up when I wasn't looking, but he comes over, cuts me off, and then flips me off. He proceeds to give me looks and honk his horn as I continued on. The guy doesn't own the road..

Then another day, late october I went to go pick up my paycheck from work after school. I get to the interesection where I need to go right on McClay and I'm clear to go. I went and here comes flying through sliding near me is a silver 350Z who cuts in front of me and slows down. I blare the horn and floor it. Then again he stops. I almost hit him and he floors it. I turned into a neighborhood to cool off and I went back onto McClay, when the guy's coming the opposite way, and in my mirror i see him turn around in the suicide lane almost hitting a car. I then got into another neighborhood and lost him. Some people are just freakin' nut cases, just gotta watch out for em.

Isn't it funny that alot of these road rage incidents start because someone is in a big ass hurry, but then they have the time to start following you and chasing you? Frickin Morons.

Years ago I had a guy following me for about 15 minutes. I did the going through neighborhood thing but he stayed close enough to me. I couldn't figure out what I did to piss him off. Any way after about the 15 minutes I started getting pissed, turned quickly into a parking lot, got out and was waiting for him when he pulled up and I asked what kind of problem he had. His comeback - 'none, I love your car and was waiting for you to stop so I could ask you some questions'. Which he then proceeded to talk to me for a half hour.

Geez sometimes you never know. Looking back I'm glad he didn't have a gun !

So who had the road rage?

Him for following you or you for "cussing him out" and starting it?

He probably made a dumb mistake and pulled out, you turned it into a confrontation by making in personal with a gesture and insult. Besides, where I live, the vehicle on the right has the right of way at a four way stop, if you're all stopped waiting for a car. Don't know what the law is where you are, but if it's the same, you were in the wrong......

Just like your "middle finger" story above..............I'm seeing a pattern here...........

Most people who make these "dumb mistakes" need to realize that having a driver’s license is a responsibility, and need to drive more carefully. The gesture they receive may save someone’s life in the future, as it serves as a reminder for them to act responsibly while driving. The life that's saved thanks to that middle finger could be their own.

I disagree.

A drivers license is a priveledge. With that priveledge does come a responsability. About that you are right, but:

A responsability to learn how to drive and be aware of your surroundings, but also to be curteous and avoid potential accident causing situations.

Like inflaming an already tense situation with a personal attack. That middle finger is only a reminder of how much of an a-hole someone can be and does nothing but to further impare someones good judgement. On both sides of the equation.

I suppose you're immune from "dumb mistakes" are you................

Anyways, this is obviously pointless. Signing off now....................

Had it happen once, kids in a Civic followed me...coulda lost them in the Cad, but hey I keep the pistola in the umbrella holder(great place to keep a pistol) pulled into some neighborhood, someone's driveway. All four little punks got out and so did all 17 of my friends...I told the little bastards you can run but I gaurantee my friends can fun faster. Anyways this was totally made up story but it sounds good right? I've never really had anyone get that mad and follow me home, I have had people get out of their car and or follow me but never had anyone follow me home.

STORY #1: You guys should see some of the winners here in Chicago. I have a HUGE problem with people who drive 10mph under the speed limit. Anyway, I was driving home one day and there was this car infront of me that was going 30mph in a 45mph zone. So, I am on her ass(Keep your jokes aside) trying to let her know to speed it up.(Becareful of people who slam on their brakes when doing that.) She turned into this trailer home sub-division and flips me the bird before I passed her.

STORY #2: I was on my way to church a few years back when I see this person driving very very slow infront of me. So I do the same thing that I mentioned above and this time this person was drunk. So, we pull up to a stoplight and he get's out of his car and brings his cup of coffee with him. He knocks very hard on the window(Yes the Trep) and I just keep on looking straight forward when he pours his cup of coffee on the windshield. I felt like getting out and punching this F***er in the face but figured it's not worth it.

Those were my stories. I hoped you learned what not to do. LOL

I drive a 2009 Impala now but I loved my Intrepid.
