Cadillac Escalade completely stripped... well, almost!

I just saw this on a salvage car auction site...

It's a 2005 White Diamond Metallic Cadillac Escalade. It was stolen and stripped (check out the inside!)... but the part I find funny is they left the engine! They took all the cheap-o plastic and stuff from the interior, and left the big V-8 up front! I guess even thieves don't want those gas-guzzlers!

Another funny thing I saw was this Aston Martin DB9 Volante... its Rollover Protection System activated in the crash and busted out the back window!

It's almost sad to see a cheerful little Mini in such a sad state...

And then there's this 2008 Dodge Viper with just 34 miles... and enough chassis damage to earn it a salvage title! At least they had some fun with it before it got hauled away...

Near Toronto Ontario a couple years ago there was a problem with people stealing cars, Removing the complete interior carefully and parking them somewhere to be found. The police tow it, it comes up for auction and they buy it dirt cheap since it's a "write off". Re-assemble it and you have a undamaged "legal" Escalade you can plate and run on the road...

I think the big gas guzzling suv's are getting cheaper. I saw an '05 Navigator for $13000 Can. in Stratford today. I so would take the gas hit if I was in the market for a vehicle right now. I suppose the Journey will have to do for now...

I can't see the allure of those big suv's. The big chrome wheels make them look even dumber, cause it takes it's off road capability away (unless the owner wants to trash his rims). Big stupid looking things to me. I laugh as I blow past them with my V6.

Priced out Escalade trim pieces lately, what they took is far more valuable that the engine, and much easier to sell too! I know the radio bezel is $360 alone.
