Another new paint Job

Nope, not the trep!... I repainted my buddy's honda civic for him for the 2nd time. The previous paint job was damaged from years of highway driving and a fender bender or two.

Formerly HOK Black Sparkle with red flake...

This time... HOK Kandy Brandywine over Stratto Blue glamour metallic.

He's getting his rims put back on tomorrow so I'm going to get some better daylight shots afterwards. I'd say on a one to ten scale, this job turned out an 8. I had some pretty rough body work to play with and we painted this past Saturday while the remanants of a hurricane was coming through. Not too shabby!

How the **** did you get that kind of paint job out of using spray paint?? That is how you did it, right?

He doesn't use rattle cans if that is what you are asking. I believe in the picture, he is just applying the primer.

Yes, that is what I'm asking. It only shows him with a can of paint and then all of a sudden the blue undercoat is blotchy, so it looks like it was done with a can of spray. ;)

The blue you see is simply the first coat of base over the black. It looks splotchy because covering black with such a bright color is a pain in the ass. The rattle can action is just primer. I'd have more pictures of the painting process, but it's a little difficult to spray and take photos at the same time. Besides, I don't want overspray all over my camera! The actual paint job was done with a DeVilibis HVLP gun using all House of Kolor products.
