Impala loaner car

The new Explorer had to go back to the dealer for an alignment so I got a 2005 Impala as a loaner car for the day

I hate to say it but nothing screams rental car like this thing, silver outside, grey inside, bench seat, vinyl steering wheel

The base SE rentals I have driven seemed to have just as much pickup as this thing

One positive note, it has a cool dash mounted ignition switch!

Wow. [/feigned enthusiasm]

It's gonna take them a day to do the alignment?

Alignment and a power window motor

Wife took the car today to drive my daughter to softball practice, they both agree 100% that this is a completely boring car and we need to return it as soon as possible

Does it have the 3.4 V6?
Does it go to 50 mph in 1st gear, and can it break 90mph in 2nd?

That would explain its extreme lethargy.

Just had an 07 Malibu. Pretty much the same thing. Plain and boring. Perfect car for people who are as enthuasiatic about their cars as I am about my washer, drier or refridgerator.

I'm all for cars that are not all that. As long as the price reflects. Problem with the Malibu is they start at $25,000. It would be a great car for $15, but for $25 I expect more.

Didnt they make the malibu "classic" for an extra year just for the rental car companies?
