Dodge Dakota R/T

Hey, does anyone on the forum have one of these? I've been interested in one of these for a long time and just wanted to know how well they ran. I bet they run damn good with that 5.9L in it huh?

I have a pink dakota... pre-"R/T" but it's RWD with a v8 and can light them up with the best of them!

ignore the tinkerbell airbrushing as it's flying past you on the highway!

When I brought my lil 2.7 down to the dragstrip, there were 2 of them there. I don't know if they were modded at all, but when I raced one of them it blew my doors off. I think it was a mid 15 second quarter mile.

Mid 15's thats all? I would expect like low 15's atleast they must have been stock and having traction issues...

They are nice little trucks my friend owns a yellow 2001. The only thing that I noticed about the Dakota R/T's that I have seen is that nobody wants to put anything in the trunk bed lol. its a truck! lol.

I would have to dig out the time-slip but IIRC it was about a 15.5. Granted, that night sucked for racing because my times were about .2 to .3 seconds off.

Also, there are a few of them floating around up here. One of my fav's is a lowered, debadged Tor-Red R/T.

There was a story in Car and Driver of a carpenter that went into a Dodge dealership ready to buy the new (at the time) Ram with a Hemi. Instead, he came out with a Ram SRT-10 that is his daily work truck and hauls lumber to and from the worksite lol. The really funny thing is that is says right in the owner's manual that the SRT-10 is NOT meant for towing or hauling under any circumstances.
