Tire width size advice needed

Hey guys

A few days ago we had a blow out that destroyed the front driver tire. Its a 94 Grand Caravan ES BTW. We didnt want a new tire so weve been searching for a used tire and found 3 good tires at a great price. The only problem is the tires on there now are 205/70/15s the 3 tires we bought are 215/70/15s. My question .. Will there be a big enough difference in tire size if i just replace the single tire on the front driver it will be notice? Or Should I put the back tires(205s) on the front and put the 215 in a pair on the back or the 215s on the front in a pair.

put the 215's in front and 205's in rear that will help with traction for the snow since there is more tire to grip the road

Agreed, and also to clarify, keep the sizes the same in pairs on the axle. Don't use 3 larger and 1 smaller, use 2 larger up front, and 2 smaller in rear... not ideal, but the best thing to do in your situation.

Then, you've got two spares, one for front, and one for back.

Well i had the 215s put on the back and the 205 on the front. Oh get this. I went to a place Robertson Tires here in Tulsa. I've had good experiences with them so i went for this project. I explain to the mechanic what i want done and he ask about balancing and I told him No. This van is a beater not driven much and the tires will be on the back so It wouldn't make much difference. He said ok. He put the tires on and i went to pay. The total was 40 dollars i ask can you break it down and he said mounting and balancing 20 dollars. I told him i didn't ask for balancing and i specifically said not to. He went and talked to the mechanic , came back and took the balancing off total 12 dollars. Well i go to get the van and those bastards actually popped the weights off the wheels and left scratch marks. Now i know if i didn't pay for balancing i don't deserve the benefits of balancing but when they already do the work and it was their mistake why not leave it? Its not like they are reusing the weights. I was jsut in shock LOL i called in a complaint not really a complaint more of a "I cant believe you did that" call to the head office. I felt it was more of a " If we do it anyways hell pay the price" type of thing.

I hate car shops that hear what you say, and then charge you for it anyways.
