Well it's the base model, it doesn't have a Tach, real disadvantage to me, I'm going to presume that the engine is not cutting itself off as I still have power steering and all the electric works so I'm not sure, it just happened those 2 times tho, now I've just been fighting with the check engine light. It came on again today and I pulled the codes to see if there was anything new and it just gave me the same 12, 51, 55 so nothing new....
This might come as a stupid question but when you replace the battery or disconnect the battery does that clear the OBD codes that are stored?
Okay so I just pulled out the file for the van as this has just been my secondary vehicle prior to the Ion taking a crap on me... it's the 3.0L V6, Now keep in mind here that the van only has 49,500 on it. This van had barely been driven.
Flipping through the file and looking over some of the invoices, in 06 she took the van in, at this point it had 43,200, according the invoice grandma stated that the engine was surging when in park, their action, they merely checked for codes and said that it wasn't surging for them, (this is a familiar story, same thing happened to me with the trep, I wanted to punch the mechanic in the face thinking I was delusional, I have a problem with Stew Hansen). That's literally the only other known problem aside from this June I was running around in the van and I started to smell oil inside the van, within 3 seconds of my noticing the smell, the check engine light came on, and by the time I came back outside the light wouldn't come back on no matter how long I was driving it and running it, at this point in time I was under the impression that the van had OBD I not OBDII and didn't bother try pulling the codes.
Let me know if there is anything else I can maybe give you information wise to help you.
So how far down the Highway are you, other side of Boone? Closer to Carroll?
