My wife bought one brand new and from what she told me it was the worst car she ever owned.
and other people that iv known that ever owned one said pretty much the same.
lots of motor problems.

I'd agree with Crypt. My friend had one, and it seemed like he was always having "annoyance" problems. An odd one is that the headlights fall out. Like anything, I'm sure there are good and bad ones. Good luck!

If it's a GTP and not beat on, then I'd say go for it.
Just have to watch the intake manifold gaskets leaking. That goes for all the motors for them...3100, 3800, and the supercharged 3800.
Step daughter has a 2000 GTP and I run a 97 GT on the 1/4 mile paved oval. 3800's are good engines.

Stay as far away as possible.....I like the GTP's...but holy problems...more issues with the car itself rather than the engine, but you still have the intake issues, and the plastic intake that cracks and leaks coolant into the cylinders on the 3800.

yea the intake problem happened on my cuzin's buick 3.1L
but other than the intake problem the engine is almost invincible.
idk about the car itself.
GTP's are fast as hell tho,and easily moddable

i rarley hear of gm's 3000's series engines having problems,
other than the known gasket problem
