I have neer posted it here, but I do own a 1994 Chevrolet C-3500 Crewcab SRW (Single Rear Wheel) LWB (Long Wheel Base) truck. That is for another thread later, so on with the question...
Well it has come down to getting new tires for the C-3500 because the ones that are on the C-3500 are starting to chunk tread off, plus the sidewalls are cracking. This truck is not an 4X4 truck.
I have narrowed down the choices to these 2 brands and I can get both of them locally.
1.) GOODYEAR WRANGLER RT/S (LT 245/75 R16) - $142 a tire and that is mounted and balanced and I keep the old tires (They are charging a lot for them to dispose of the old ones)
2.) UNIROYAL LARADO CROSS-COUNTRY (LT 245/75 R16) - $120 per tire and that is mounted and balanced and I keep the old tires.
I am going to have to jack up the front-end and recheck the brakes and rotors since there is some strange vibration when cruising and it does get worse when the brakes are applied. It feels like the brake pads that I got from O'reilly Auto Parts may of been defective. IMO it could be a wheel weight fell off the truck and it could cause the vibration / shaking the truck is doing. I just got to diagnose this one quickly.
While I am in Alabama later this month, I may go and buy a spare rim (8 LUG since my C-3500 is an 8 lug) from the yard down there and get a tire for it since my C-3500 currently does not have a spare at all (It did not have one when I got the truck).
