1993 Eagle Vision won't start

I was wondering if someone could help me in figuring what is wrong with my car? When you turn the key to start the car and if the gas gauge doesn't register gas it won't start. But when the gas does register it will start. I am perplexed. Help

Hi - first thing to do is start at the battery and work your way to the key - we're looking for bad connections, loose wires, corrosion, etc. Inside the fuse box you'll look for the same, and also maybe swap some relays around - swap the ASD relay for a headlight or AC relay, for example. If you start swapping things, do it one at a time, and test. If the headlights, for example, are dim - or won't flip to high beams, then the relay would have been at fault.

It can also be more diabolical, such as cold solder joints cracking in the body control module for example - but lets tackle that one at a time.

Check the battery cables and connections first, and let us know.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!
