O.K. So my friend had a 1997 Taurus G with the 3.0 OHV Vulcan. recently the check engine light came on, well as recent as he told me. It came up as a camshaft position sensor. I went to go to replace it and ran into some trouble with spacing. Has anybody replaced one of those on here, if so how did you overcome the poor spacing between the throttle body and firewall. I tried squezzing a socket wrench with a Phillips head tip in it and still didn't have enough room.
cam sensor?? simple job, if it was the dohc engine , thats a diff story
on the OHV engine,, it replaces the distrubutor,, move the plug wire loom out of the way, its right there, , more than likely your gonna have to replace the shaft that replaces the distrubutor also,, there famious for getting destroyed when the sensor goes bad
