alright guys your input is needed

ok so here the deal. i am getting ready to purchase another vehicle (notice the word another, the trep wouldnt be going anywhere). im looking for something simple. basically i want brand new, warranty, 4cyl, good on gas. dont need anything flashy or fancy from it. dont want to do any mods. i just want to drive it and maintain it properly. as a loyal mopar guy (at least try to be) i find it hard to be loyal at the moment because chrysler is not making any vehicles that im looking for (that i can afford). the caliber kind of works but as much as i try to tell myself i like it i really dont. just looks like too much of a mini-van. after lots of research i keep coming back to 1 vehicle. the hyundai accent. this is for many reasons. they are pretty cheap, comes with awesome warranties, 4 cylinder, good on gas, nothing fancy, and means my trep retires to driveway queen/ summer car. basically everything im looking for. not to mention i could get a discount on one considering the auto group i work for has a hyundai dealer and i actually spent some time working on them. it seems like my best bet is the accent, but im getting $hit from family members telling me to go for the caliber, you guys might tell me the same. but i just dont want to drive a car that looks like a minivan. any thoughts or suggestions for me?

the long and the short of it is the caliber is just not a very good car. What about a new 200 with the 2.4L? That gets 20/31 for MPG. Heck, even the 3.6 gets 19/29, but I'm guessing it would be hard not to drive it like you stole it.

Insurance on a 200 is more than the caliber? Why?

You could always pick up an 01-02 neon for a year or two until Chrysler replaces the caliber

I don't blame you for not wanting a Caliber, it's ugly. The downside of a Hyundai is the lack of resale value, unless you drive it til it dies ( probably sometime in May ). If you're gonna get an import get a Civic, Golf, Camry, etc. Something reliable and has value when you want to trade it in.

If he cant afford a 200 he cant afford a mx5. And if he's worried about the insurance on a 200...
