Have you seen the new Mitsu Galant?

I was driving down the highway today and saw a car ahead on me that at first glance I thought it was a 300C. But we I got closer I noticed that it was actually a Galant. Now I know that Mitsubishi and Chrysler work togethere on some things in the past but dang, the Galant having a similar rear end to the 300C. I think its a bad move if Chrysler had anything to do with it.

What you guys think about Mitsu cars looking like Chrysler cars?

Thats what I thought. I heard that Chysler sold thei part of Mitsu and Hyundai as well. But I still say the rear of the Galant lokks similar to the 300C.

No, the 300 and the Galant's rear do look alike. The taillights have some similar features as well.

I LIKE the Galant's rear end............jury's still out for me on the C's rear end (probably the only part of the C I don't like).

Same here. For the front and side to be so elegant the rear is kind of left blah!

The new Galant 3.8 V6 is a good handling strong runner. I had one as a rental car and I liked it a lot. Not many toys, strong torque, 4w discs w/abs, and a straightforward interior made it nice. I think it's a pretty good looker, esp in the dover white. Certainly better looking than the Accord, Camry, or Altima.

It also seems like a better value. 100K Warranty, and also now they are offering (40K?) 3 year FREE Maintenance.

The Galant is designed to be an anycar (Mitsu aimed at the middle of the midsize market), stealing from Nissan, BMW, Opel, Toyota, Honda... you name it. The Galant looks more like a Maxima.

I think the Galant is a pretty good looking Grand Prix, it just needs a 6-speed auto and a compass/temp pod and some GM incentives and I'd be on the lot. Mitsu salesfolk remind me of chevy sellers, usually seem to be unwilling to do much to effect a sale. Don't know about Galant's reliability quotient, tho.
