So if you read my thread about how to repair your window motors, you know I'm working on a 1999 Alfa Romeo 156 T-Spark 1.8L with a friend, mostly to learn more about engines, inner working, heavy repairs, etc... We don't want to stop there and our next goal is to work on V6 (Sebring or 300M 2.7L maybe as there is ONLY ONE INTREPID on sale in the entire country), later.

The seller should send his title by email tomorrow so I can get more info on the car (VIN mostly).
Here is what he said by email:
Engine is 2.0L, manual tranny. Camshaft seized, mechanic said to swap the engine or maybe change the cylinder head. There was a problem with the oil pressure light on the dash, oil changes always made on time but there was a leak without the light coming up, timing belt broken
Believe me I tried to get it making some sense because his French is worse than my German may be... Add SMS language to that...
So for now I don't know if it's a SOHC or DOHC engine. The car is suposed to be from 2006, a Sebring Convertible manual tranny with 126'000 km (78'750 miles) on it.
I guess the oil pump is dead, which could have cause the engine to seize. About the leak I'm not even sure if it's right... The 2.0L is an interference design so valves (and pistons maybe) will be dead...
Do you know how much it could cost (no labour, just parts) to repair this?
What are the main causes of engine seizures on the 2.0L SOHC or DOHC, is it common?
Do you think it's worth towing the car from Calais to my place 350km/220m?
Should we wait until the next "singing timing chain" 2.7L?
