Screw everything else, I want an F-body.

I'm tired of the current look of the new cars that have been released lately and I don't want any of it. I've started saving up for a down payment (and mod money) for a 2001-2002 white Trans Am WS-6 with a 6 speed. I wanted an SXT trep, but I think I want a "hot car" for sunny Las Vegas (I plan to attend UNLV in fall of 2005) and something that the ladies will love. I wont do much to it as far as engine work goes, but I want to make it more beefy and sweet looking. I want to go after the appearence first with a SLP Firehawk or H.O. hood (I don't really care for the quad scoops on the WS6) to make it look a little more low profile and a fixed headlamp conversion (not very many on the road) and 18 or 19" moda r6 rims. I would love to purchase the 1LE suspension package but that is a maybe due to it's very high price. You can't argue with it's capability however. As far as "go fast" goodies, here is a list:

-High Velosity 1 7/8" long tube headers, no cats, Dr. Gas X-pipe to Sweet Thunder Chambered mufflers dumped through side pipes with some nice dual oval tips on each side.
-High flow cold air induction connected directly to the hood.
-160 degree t-stat
-Maybe a 75 shot of nitrous
-Z06 clutch assy.
-Z06 intake manifold
-reprogrammed computer

nothing to major as I plan on doing more show than track duty while in college.

I think I'm ready for some good old fashioned V8 torque to go hunting unsuspecting Civics and the all mighty Mustang. I'll keep the rear stock tires for nights that I feel like I want to do some stupid shit.

Flame if you want, but in fall of 2005, this LH'er becomes DI.net's next F-Body guru.

Any comments? I don't mind. Positive or Negitive. Any input is greatly apreciated.

Here is a video of some LS1 power.

This is how I want my exhaust to sound.

Here is a pic of what inspired my new obsession.

edit: note the fixed headlights and SLP H.O. hood.

Those cars are very fast in stock trim. A catback exhaust for a little more sound and a few things to change the looks is all you need till you get hungry for power.

Thanks for the support. I thought that I would get a lot of flames for not sticking with DC. I've always been an F-body fan, but now is the first time I actually plan on acting on it. I want to buy the car out west that has never had a winter on it. I think that this car will be less of a chore when it comes to using the manual transmission compared to my pop's 6 speed tibby. I wont have to play with the trottle as much due the torque output of the 5.7L V8.

*Did any one check out the vid?

I'll do what I do now with the trep. Baby the sh*t out of it but roll the fu*k out on the highway. At triple digit speeds the T/A is nothing to be fu*ked with.

*I can't believe I just internet cussed.

I want the modern day bad boy toy and not the hillbilly smokey and the bandit style. The modern LS1's are the best in my opinion.

The F-Bodies were basically an awesome motor, surrounded by a mediocre car. Fun? Hell Yeah! After a while though, the creaky plasticky interior gets old. So does the on-the-ground ride height, lack of storage, blindspots, rattling, being blinded by every other car's headlights at night, noise, etc.........not a very practical car. If you're in a position to have a car simply because it's fun, and you don't need it to be practical, then I envy you! I hope to buy one as a toy someday.
