Lower Price for the Grand Cherokee and.....

They have taken 30,000 orders already.

I personally think it looks alright, seems to be much bigger than the current one. And now receives HEMI power....I don't think you can ask for much more.

Bye Bye articulation and cheap, easy lift kits!

The interior looks to be miles ahead of my 2000 Laredo as far as quality goes. Overall, I like it.

Looks like push-button 4X4 too. I hate push-button 4X4.....even in pick-ups. I guess they held out as long as they could before jumping onto the bandwagon and catering to the yuppie-soccermom crowd. Of course, Jeep will shove all their "Trail Rated" marketing BS down our throats anyhow. Also looks like the brake pedal is still so far over tot he left, it should almost be a clutch pedal. That's my biggest complaint about my wife's 2000 GC Laredo. I have to sit with my legs funny to operate the pedals, and always end up just using my left foot for the brake because my right leg gets sore. Oh well. I still like it.

I was at the press release in NY for the WK's. I had only seen the REAL pictures of it the day before it was released...I hated the pictures. After seeing it in person and sitting in it, it really is a nice truck.

As for the styling, think a ZJ (1st Gen Grand Cherokee) meets an Acura MDX and you kinda get the jist of what it looks like in person. The front end is really going to take some getting used to though.

And...........IFS. Not a horrid thing because most NEW Grand Cherokee buyers are using it to mall crawl anyways. But for those who like to buy a Jeep that's a few years old to offroad....well, your choices just became even more limited unless you want to spend a load of cash on an IFS lift that doesn't net as much articulation (I've been there with the KJ). Again, though...that's a very small percentage of people (who will just buy a ZJ/WJ/XJ/TJ anyway to bash up)

There's some interesting articles over at Allpar that explains the suspension they were going to put in the WK. A "long travel IFS" that had over 12" of suspension travel.

The littel chrome lever to the right of the shifter is the 4X4 controls.

Interior is nice but the exterior is definitely a downgrade in looks compared to the current model. It also looks smaller which given the current price of gas may not be a bad thing

I'm a fan of the looks of the current Grand Cherokee Laredo........the new one just doesn't turn my crank. Though I've never liked Hummers or Land Rovers at all either, so maybe I just don't have good taste?

...........OK, SOMEONE figure out a way to get THAT Nav radio to work in our Intrepid's??? I want it!!!

The rear looks partially like a Hummer H2. I guess what goes around comes around with ripping off styling ques.

The Nav radio looks to be the one that's in the LX cars. Only time will tell how it does off road.

The exterior is plain ugly and much worse than the current look. I also hate the girlie electronic buttons for the transfer case control. Hemi is just a marketing gimmick. Don't they already come with v8? What is so bad about IFS? I would think that off roaders would prefer independent suspensions to allow maximum motion of a wheel without disturbing the other.

Yes it already comes with the 4.7 V-8 and the H.O. 4.7., The H.O. is dropped and replaced by the 5.7 with MDS.
