New Mod to the Truck

Well, its pretty small...just got the truck back, with the new transmission...i now have the trans/clutch/everything from the flywheel to driveshaft from a 93 Dakota, and it shifts much smoother and is actually quiet...and i put a 14" air cleaner with a K&N on it today, as well as finally installing my fuel pressure gauge...

K&N, that's the way to be, i put a 14"accross 4" tall filter in my firebird I made the mistake of putting to tall of a carb post in, put a nice dent in the hood :( *sigh* but i could definitely tell the differance with the K&N over the stock air cleaner!

i've seen that happen before...we bought a wrecked 73 challenger to part out and it had a nice bulge where the idiot kid closed the hood right on top of the carb stud...but as you can see, i can still go an inch taller on the filter, thanks to the drop base...or if i didnt have to have a 2" spacer on top of the carb, i could go real tall with the filter...but im just gonna get an Xtreme flow top for it after i get the AAR hood

originally when i closed the hood it fit fine but once started driving and the engine was running it vibrated up inot the hood, so yeah
i had to go with the drop base as well 2" but then it ran into the throttle so i had to put a 1" spacer on top of the carb now it all fits fine, like 1/4" clearance of the hood.

im sure thats about all the space i have b/w the hood and the carb stud...but according to K&N's equations, the 3" tall filter and Xtreme flow top will be all i need in terms of filtration...but that set up usually isnt on the truck, i usually have my 9"x2" on there for fuel mileage concerns (smaller air cleaner=less right foot from me)...but i need to get a K&N for that to keep the idle smooth
