My Intrepid is already registered for the showfield but is not registered or insured. Maybe if the GC is capable of tow-dollying it out there but I think that's a stretch.
Come on we used to town a fat ass boat with the same 2.3L engine that is in curts mazda!

All those problems sounds like they can be taken care of in a few days... the paint master can take out the rust, and foglights are easy to replace (I'm on my second aftermarket set LOL). Sounds like a good deal as long as the transmission holds out... my roomates girlfriends 2000 4.0L GC (almost loaded with 4WD, moonroof, OTIS, CD changer, ATC, etc.) had a problem with an output shaft seal that made it feel like her tranny was slipping. Luckily she talked to me and her roommate as soon it started and it was fixed within a week of it happening. Other than that, the 4.0 is rock solid. I can imagine the V8 would be even better! Good luck with it.

Why would dollying the Intrepid be a bad idea? It clearly has the power to do it. Might only have a problem with the transmission if it has never towed something before... Our 1998 Tahoe towed something for the first time in its lifetime last summer (Carlisle weekend actually, my dad wanted to kill me for going to Carlisle instead of State College LOL), at 130,000 miles to move my sisters bedroom and living room furniture from State College, PA to Flemington, NJ. It was fine on the trip, but a couple months ago the tranny started leaking and the tranny shop determined that it had to be rebuilt.

It's towed plenty of things in the past... the problem isn't the power, it's the weight. The Intrepid is pretty damn heavy. When it was on the trailer last year at one point is was directly along side the truck that was pulling it.

no, the weight of the Intrepid on the trailer at high speeds caused way too much sway. I don't know the engineering and physics behind it, but we had to bring the truck up to 85 to straighten out the trailer.

That's really weird... it shouldn't do that. Then again, the only thing we've ever towed was a u-haul. Maybe if the trailor has one axle that can happen, but that still seems highly unlikely unless there is something seriously wrong with the trailor? I mean I've never seen that happen and I've seen Suburbans up on car dolley's.
