new speakers, sub, etc.

Hey guys. i have a 2003 intrepid sxt . I jst bought a new pioneer head unit and i was wondering what would be the best choice for speakers. i am already ordering an amp, sub, ,sub box, wiring fforr the sub. What dimension speakers would i need? What would be the best speakers/ tweeters or my buck? i don't like the stock speakers but also, are there afftermarket tweeters that would fit well? i know the stock oness arre like a triangle design. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

6.5" in the front, aftermarket 6x9s fit in the back with some modification. You can put tweeters in the sail speakers if you're a little handy. The door/sail speakers are the most important. You should spend most of your money there. I have Alpine Type Rs and I really like them.

somewhere in my audio build thread is some pictures of how I did the tweeters.

also, if i got 3 way speakers, would that be too much frequency between the tweeters and sub? would it sound bad because there is a sub and tweeter already in the speaker and the actual sub/ tweeter?

There's nothing "kickass" sounding about a $50 pair of pioneers.

I don't know what this means.

2-ways for the rear deck, 3 ways max. The rears don't need the high range, just for rear fill. You want the good highs up front.

No point in replacing them for replacements sake. I wouldn't bother unless you could replace them with a nice component set. Rather than wasting a few bucks now, save your pennies and buy some nicer stuff down the road.

Do you have a factory Amp in your car you are going to continue running? If so that's a two ohm system.

If not then yes, those are the same as what I put in mine.,

That's a single channel amp. If you want to power your door and rear deck speakers you will need a 4 channel amp to go along with that one. Or you could get a 5 channel and power all the speakers and your subs with one amp. The head unit you put in will have a small amp in it on it's own, a few watts per channel. You'll just want to make sure you remove the little amp from under the dash (if you have one) if you are going to replace all of your speakers with 4 ohm stuff.
