I made this thread about a year ago on the other site... Dave asked me to post it over here.

I got most of this info from WJJeeps - Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ - Factory audio systems.

Feel free to add to this list, and make any corrections... I know this isn't a complete list, but it's a good place to start.

AM/FM Cassette Radios

RAS

- Two band EQ, no CD-C control, no PCI Bus connection
- 40 watts of total power at 3% THD
- 10 AM/10 FM presets

RBA
- CD-C control

RBL
- CD-C control

RBN

- Three band EQ, CD-C control
- 66 watts of total power at 3% THD

Judging by the power output and harmonic distortion level of each radio being even, they should all sound about the same although the RBN, RBB, and the RAZ offer a mid frequency range adjustment unlike several others. The nav units and any others with a digital equalizer will likely have the same amount of adjustment, so its really up to you.

Which one plays mp3 and will fit in my 02 Intrepid

I am looking to upgrade my stock stereo in my 02 Intrepid. I think it has the RAZ model. I need to play mp3 recorded cds. Can someone tell me which one plays mp3 and if it will fit in my 02 Intrepid?

I think the rah do but it is not displayed.. My new rbq 2005 = does . I had the older model one in my 1998 intrepid es.. I use burned cd in the newer model rbq all the time . But i burn them at the slowest burn rate = also to insure better play back and sound quality. I did a simple test on the burn quality with several cds slowest burn time = yelled better pick up and better sound fater burn time = worst burn quality to no pickup and no music at all..
