I know the 2nd gens have 6.5" and 6X9. The 6.5" are in the front doors, and the 6X9's are in the rear deck.

Thanks man, I just didn't see them. If they're there, they're hidden under the fabric of the deck, because it looked like there were rises where speakers would be, but there was no grille exposing the speaker. I'll go out tomorrow and take a look. Thanks again.

Yeah, the speakers would be under the carpet on the rear deck.

No problem, That is why we are here. To help each other out..

The fronts are an oversize 6.5 - more like 6.75, right?

i believe there a little oversize yes, but i could be wrong. to clear up your sound ( in the rear) you can do the speaker grill mod, from a first generation LHS or intrepid. simply remove the rear shelf and make a template and cut for the speaker grills. looks and sounds much better.

Yeah, I'll probably just end up cutting the carpet up.

If the speakers are over sized, would I have any problems installing some 6.5" Kicker DS65's then?

Correct - some times guys use the basket from the old speaker to make an adapter ring...

Ok, so they would be moderately easy to install?

NO idea... but I'd think so. The use of the baskets as an adapter I don't know how much I'd like that - may leave a gap around the driver and cause air passing noise - maybe seal it up with a gasket material of some sort - but this is all based on looking at pictures - I have not had to do the swap myself.
