I assume you're talking about a stiffening capacitor for the main power feed? It should have come with instructions, but what brand is it? Alumapro? It is important as to how you charge and connect it...

It's all in the instructions. But based on your PM response, I'd return it and get my money back. Most likely you don't need it anyway...

A cap is NOT the solution! Repeat after me, a CAP IS NOT THE SOLUTION! You need to fix the source of the problem. If your lights are dimming just from rolling down the windows you have a serious electrical problem you need to get fixed. Installing the cap will just make things worse for you...

Bad alternator, to small a gauge wire to your amps, too large of amps for the alternator, etc. etc. There are many possibilities, but the root of the problem is that your car can't supply the current required. What do you have in your system, what gauge wiring are you using and how is it all connected???

OK? But what all is that powering? Most likely you need much larger gauge wire to your amps. The rule of thumb is that 4AWG is only good for around 600W RMS of amplifier power. Also, being that it's from the battery rather than the alternator you may be suffering a loss from the OEM alternator connection. When you decide to reveal the mystery of what all you have in your system maybe we can provide you some advice...
