Auto EQ head units?

Hey everyone!

This may sound a little crazy, but i am wondering if there are any head units where you can have preset EQ settings for various CDs. We all know each CD sounds good with a slightly different EQ setting, especially when we change music types. Just curious if there were any units out there that you could set an EQ setting for an album, save it, and have it automatically read the CD and know which preset it corressponds with. Does that make sense?

I'm definitely not up on every head unit out there on the market, but I've never heard of one with that feature. Most that have a built-in electronic EQ (i.e. nont the slider type) have programable presets so you could set them for different music types. But definitely not enough options for every CD. If you have your system set up correctly you really shouldn't need to change your settings that often IMO...

I agree about not having to set it everytime. Being in the music business in studios have really made me picky though;) I jsut listen to such a wide spectrum of music, one minute itll be Sevendust, the next itll be Sublime, next itll be the Boston Pops...LOL. Itd jsut be a toy for me to play with if there actually was one.

I haven't heard of a cd player that has those features either, but I have certainly wished for one. The amount of memory that it would take for the player to store settings for each individual cd would make the price skyrocket, I'm sure. However, both Sony and Pioneer have released cd players with about 1GB of space on them, if I remember correctly, so maybe an option like that could be feasible soon? If you are looking for a player with good built-in equalizer features, I suggest the Blaupunkt San Francisco. I think there are some other new Blaupunkts out there that also incorporate those equalizer controls, but I'm not sure.
