New to the Intrepid, already in love.
I'm a Dodge fan, already own a Neon, but it doesn't have much to say for itself besides mileage, drives like a go-cart and can hardly go up hill. My prayers were answered when a 2000 Intrepid R/T, 3.5 Magnum, pretty much fell into my lap, an uncle bought it for scrap and it turned out all it actually needed was a battery, sold it to me for a steal. From what I can tell, I lucked out, it seems like the best possible version of an already great platform.
Just bought the new battery, went through the hassle of installing it in the wonky location under the air filter, took it around the back-roads and I already know it's the best $600 I ever spent. Engine looks and sounds good for having not been driven in the better part of five years, no rattles and smooth shifting, love the feel of the acceleration, and the sound system is killer for being what it came with, comfy seats, ton of room, it'll make the perfect weekend joyrider and road trip car.
Only problem is that the tires are practically shot, and those big 17's aren't cheap at all. I'm not too worried at the moment, but by time these crazy Kentucky winters roll around, I'm going to have to drop cash on a new set just for the peace of mind.
So that's me, two days driving the thing and I'm already joining a forum, it's that great.
