If it uses a good bit of oil between changes, most likely needs new valve stem seals.
Also do this experiment: Get engine up to temperature, take it out on highway, coast along at 55 or 60 mph, decelerate (no braking, just take foot off of gas pedal) down to 45 or 50 mph, then punch it hard as if passing a car. Look behind you and see if you left a cloud of dark smoke - due to the very low visibility out the back on these cars, it may be out of your field of vision - best if you have a friend drive behind you while you do it so they can tell you if there was a cloud of smoke. My 2.7 used to do that and I didnít even know it until several times, co-workers happened to be behind me leaving work, and would tell me the next morning at work about the huge cloud of black smoke (hard to see from driverís seat) when I passed a car.
