Hey, I just joined. My name is Matt and I'm excited about this site. I came across it while I was still waiting to get my Trep. I've always been about high performance import cars before, but I have a baby on the way. The Intrepid seemed like the best and most comfortable car in my price range. I also think it has way more performance potential than most people give it. I plan on designing my own turbo kit for my Trep and maybe giving it a small shot of Nitrous. The problem is there are virtually no parts to strengthen the engine. Anyone heard of new cams or pistons or anything like that? I've also had trouble finding simple things like intakes and headers. If anyone has any help that'd be great. I alos plan a set of 19 or 20" rims and an air ride suspension system. Got any suggestions. Thanks and I look forward to being a member long into the future.
Are we talking 1st gen or 2nd? If its a 1st gen 3.5, you dont really need to worry about beefing the internals, you just have to worry about the tranny because they arent too strong. If its a 2nd gen 3.5 or 3.2, you're probably still safe. As you will hear a lot on this site, the engines really arent the problem with these cars, its the tranny.
Well.... according to sources (A.K.A. his profile on this site) he owns a 2004 Dodge Intrepid ES. If you want more info on turbocharging a ES contact "TURBO". He is the 2nd gen turbo guru. Have a nice day!
