New 2004 Intrepid SXT

Hi all... Proud new owner of a 2004 Intrepid SXT.. Traded in a 99 Intrepid that the engine died on me with a dead cylinder number 4 which started off as lifter ticking.... anyways...
I have a question for everybody... I noticed that my new 04 SXT is missing the intrepid lettering on the trunk. Has anybody ever heard of these being left off the car from the factory??

Welcome,
i think the trunk without the lettering looks nice; it gives it more of a clean/smooth look.

Thanks for the compliments... I was also told by a few other people that it probly looks better without the lettering.. The dealer offered to put it on for me... Im still debating whether I want to or not...

yea I would take it, since you pretty much already paid for it..I agree with party it does look better without the lettering on the trunk although the lettering does look better in another place on the car like

I think that looks very nice and was a good use for the lettering.

So no Trep letters EH . Well they could have been left off at the plant , but since the SXT sticker is one and the same guy does both stickers I cant see him missing it. Also your trunk lid could have changed at the plant or dealer and the letters not put on .Take a look at the bolts holding the trunk lid to the mounting brackets , do they look like they have been removed ( paint broken ,chipped or touched up?) Do me a favour ,there is a big white sticker on the B-post when you open your drivers door , look at the bottom left corner of it and you will see the month /day and hour your car was built. please check these numbers and post them for me . I am curious on the build date of this 04 .

May 2003 , OK . No I was just wondering if it was like 8/03 . Aug is when we built out the LH cars , so I thiught maybe they rushed this car out and forgot the sticker . Ok build date means nothing then. Did you look at the bolts that hold the trunk lid on ? did they look like they had been removed or touched up?
Well make sure you get the sticker from the dealer , even if you dont want to put it on. you paid for it so you may as well have it .

Enjoy the last year of the Dodge Intrepid. It may be a collector in about 30 years .

It looked clean... I also checked for touch up.. They must have just forgotten the lettering.

I thought they were making changes to the 2005 model. Rear wheel drive was one that I thought I read....

yeah big changes, like no more. The Intrepid is dead. The new cars ,code named LX have nothing in common with the LH , OK maybe one .They will be built in the same plant by the same people , thats about it . For more info on them go here
