Well first of all, welcome to the boards. Now You can use the search button on the top right of the page. I'm not an expert but I would tell you to get either an Intrepid ES of any year, that model comes with the 3.2 or the 3.5 in 2004 (last year of the Intrepid by the way) or an Intrepid R/T, those were made from 2000 to 2002 and came with a 3.5 Magnum High Output engine.
Then for 2003 and 2004 the R/T got replaced by the SXT models but with the same engine.......

Stay away from the 2.7 although some here have them and never had any major problems with them but it's better to be safe then sorry, right?

And for the others who will read this that own a base model intrepid (SE model) no I'm not bashing on the 2.7 engine just warning the guy

I hope this will help a bit and like I said check around on the site for infos on that. there's enough for you to stay up all night. Later and again welcome to the boards

08 Mini Cooper S Clubman - 6 speed standard -----> DD 36,560 miles (as of 10/06/2012)
92 Cherokee 4x4---->Trail rig 136,250 miles (as of 10/06/2012)
2000 Intrepid R/T ---->Sold ~97,000 miles

You in Vancouver by any chance BlueCoupe?

Well, the first warning I'm going to give is that you're gonna be disappoingted by the trep's performance if you're used to driving that beast (she's one nice Stang btw). Atleast as far as straight line acceleration goes.

Reliability? well it can't be too far off from your 5.0, which aren't known for their reliability anyway. Like Bimmer said, stay away from the 2.7 litre engines.

Don't listen to Lemon Aid too much or you won't be buying anything except the boring Camries and Accords. Most of their info are still based on the 1st gen, and 2nd gen's reliability have gone up somewhat. But it still isn't no toyota.

Thinking of saving some gas money? Hope you keep your Stang though.
