Greetings, fellow Dodge drivers!

I'm new to these forums.

I switched from being an import-only Honda/Mazda/Nissan guy to a Dodge guy back in the '90's, and never looked back. Owning a Dodge made me regret shunning them earlier; they really are all nice cars with a good ride and are cheap to own.

I've owned a Dodge Shadow 5 speed, and currently own two 1st gen Neons - a '99 SOHC ATX sedan, loaded with all available options for my wife to drive, and a '98 DOHC 5 speed Coupe with no options except alloy wheels and a spoiler for Yours Truly. I've got my sights set on an Intrepid as my next car of choice as I move up. Great cars for a bargain price.

Actually, I don't much like neons.org. I prefer neonsonline.com. I lost my interest with imports when I discovered that they weren't really any more reliable than your average Dodge, parts were a fraction of the price for the Dodge, the Dodge vehicles had more power, and the Dodge's were easier to work on. I remember trying to change a head gasket on a Mazda 626, and being jealous of my friend who could change it in his K car in 10 minutes and his head gasket cost him a LOT less. It didn't take long to figure out why my domestic-owning friends always seemed to have more money to spend on fun things than my import-owning friends did.

and the import drivers always tell us that it is cheaper to mod their cars, when ONE header for a civic will run about $300-$400 when 2 headers for my Dakota were $125...show me the sense there...but i am straight up against imports...cuz i know too many people who have repaid for their car in repairs

I know you said you were looking into buying a Trep, but I had to ask if you've actually had the opportunity to drive one yet.... heaven on wheels! I love my new trep, got me a 3.5 L '97 Purple for $1600 at a dealers car auction, say that ain't a steal! All it needed was a little touch up paint and a screw tightened on the radiator and it's been a dream ever since! Good luck with that bro

By the way, I was a big ricer myself, had a 91 Nissan Stanza, I loved that car, but now she's dead and the Trep lives... I'm happier than I've been with any other car thus far!
